De Anna was born January 8,1943 to Byron Eldon and Gertrude Hales Casper in Rexburg, Idaho. She was raised in Rexburg and was always a farm girl at heart. De Anna married Eugene Pugh and they had three children together. They later divorced. Several years later De Anna reconnected with a friend from elementary school, Wayne Winters, and they married in 1992. De Anna and Wayne recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.
De Anna returned to college when she was in her early 50's to complete her degree in elementary education and taught school in the Davis School District for many years.
De Anna was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a great example of love, service and perseverance. She had a quirky sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
De Anna was burdened with chronic kidney disease throughout her life and was fortunate to receive a kidney transplant on November 5, 2017 at the age of 74. The family would like to thank the transplant team from Intermountain Medical Center for giving us 5 more years with our incredible mom. They would also like to thank the numerous medical personnel who provided much needed comfort in her final days. Although mom loved, loved, loved, flowers; in lieu of them please consider being a living organ donor so other people can extend their life as well. Or donate to the Utah Kidney Foundation or American Diabetes Association in De Anna's name.
Interment will be Monday, January 23, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Sutton Cemetery in Rexburg, Idaho.
