He was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Nuremberg, Germany from 1956 until 1958 and was a member of the AMVETS. He was a member of Brewery Collectibles Club of America since 1975 and a founding member of the Three Rivers Chapter, serving as President for many years. He worked at International Harvester/Navistar for 30 years before retiring in 1991.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his former wife, Marthann (Fortkamp) Riesen; as well as his long-time partner of many years, Patricia Kamphues; and his siblings, John Art, Catherine Byerly, Mary Hundley, Ruth Grieshop, and James Art.
Memorial service is noon Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow the services at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
