John Canada AUSTIN, born in Screven County, was the son of John AUSTIN, who was also born in Georgia, & Mary GORDY, who was born in South Carolina. He was the brother of Wright W. AUSTIN.
John Canada AUSTIN married Effie Asonia HODGES on 28 January 1893, and they were the parents of nine children, born 1893 through 1913; seven of these children are buried here at North Newington Baptist Church and one is buried nearby in the town of Newington; the ninth child was Winton H. AUSTIN, born 23 April 1900, the husband of Marie EVANS.
John Canada AUSTIN died in the 1676th District of Screven County, aged 56 years. The informant for his death certificate was his son Winton H. AUSTIN of Oliver, Ga.
