Anneliese H. MacPhail, 88, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at her residence after a long bout of illness.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ed Rollins officiating, The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery.

Anneliese was born June 6, 1934 in Germany to the late Wilhiem Hachmeister and Margaret Hachmeister. She was a sponsor for Allied Officers at Ft. Benning, member of the International Wives Club; German Women's Club; was on the Board and the Treasurer at Goodwill and volunteered for Red Cross. She loved to travel to different countries and dance, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Christopher, sister, Brigitti in Germany, husband, LTC William MacPhail, Jr., sons, Mark Allen MacPhail, Sr. and David Allen.

She is survived by her daughters, Annelie Reaves of Columbus, GA, Kathy (Kate) Jacobs (Mike) of Westend, N.C., sons, Gorden MacPhail (Pam) of Capefair, MO, Bill MacPhail of Columbus, GA, sister, Ursula Grevesmul of Germany, 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, many other nieces, nephews and other family members.
