Fayanell entered this life on Feb. 13, 1924, in Sarcoxie, Mo., daughter of the late Clyde Giger and Alma (Gilbreath) Giger.
She was a 1941 graduate of Granby High School. On Feb. 14, 1942, she was united in marriage to Wayne W. Burris and to this union three sons and one daughter were born. She and Wayne lovingly raised their family in various parts of the United States. Upon retirement they moved to Mesa, Ariz. Throughout her life she was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. In 2005 she moved to Diamond to be closer to her family. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and working word puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne W. Burris, on June 29, 1998; an infant son, Jerry Wayne Burris; a grandson, Mike Hobbs; and a brother, Loren Giger.
Fayanell is survived by two sons, Greg Burris and wife, Terrie, of Fayetteville, Ark., and Jeff Burris and wife, Charlotte, of Mesa; a daughter, Marlyn Slavens and husband, Lynn, of Diamond; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth Kenney, of Carthage, Mo., Ruby Ralston, of the state of California, Carol Goen, of Midwest City, Calif., and Vera Lea Hansford, of Diamond; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services for Fayanell Burris are at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the Sarcoxie Cemetery with Pastor David Martin officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home Chapel in Sarcoxie. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie.
