Bobby Edd Willson
1949 ~ 2023 (age 73)

Bobby Edd Willson, 73, of Lone Oak, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

Bobby loved his family and his friends. He found joy in music and riding his motorcycle. He had a heart of gold and an unprecedented sense of humor. He will be sorely missed.

Bobby was born in Cooper, Texas on October 6, 1949.

You can only imagine the happiness that the birth of this baby boy brought to the family of five girls! Immediately after graduation from Cooper High School, he volunteered for the U.S. Army and served our country in Vietnam. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Bobby worked construction and cable for many years; Calico Corners for fifteen years; and at the East Texas Council of Governments until he retired on September 1, 2022.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Angela; four sons of whom he was so very proud: Jarrett Llyn and wife, Shelley, of Rockwall, Texas, John Bakker and James Keegan of Lone Oak, Texas, Christopher Noel Johnson and wife, Mary Meg, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Landry and Lyndi Willson and Brady and Taylor Johnson; sisters Nancy McFadden of Cooper, Texas, Karol Stone of Fairview, Texas, and Janie Gillean of Hockley, Texas; eight nieces and four nephews.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Edd Willson, Jr. and Madeline Morgan Willson; sisters Judy Gregory and Jacqueline Spratling; and brothers John Phillip Willson and Jeff Morgan Willson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, at the First Baptist Church in Cooper, Texas. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. with the service following at 2:00 p.m. Brother Robert Cruthird will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a memorial fund titled In Memory of Bobby Willson at American National Bank. All contributions will be distributed through the East Texas Council of Governments.
