Gladys Maurine Larrick, age 105, of Clarence, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 while at Clarence Care Center, in Clarence.

She was born on July 8, 1917, in Shelby County, MO, the daughter of Hurley Noble and Lydia Margaret (Culler) Harrison. On February 24, 1940, she was united in marriage to Eugene Ervin Larrick of Clarence who preceded her in death on February 6, 1992. To this union two children were born, John Harrison Larrick and Janet Jean Larrick. The family lived south of Clarence. Gladys moved to Macon in October 2011 to be near her family.

She is survived by her son, John H. and wife Donna of Macon, three grandchildren, John Lee (Ruth) Larrick, Annette (Kevin) Mosley all of Macon, and Marla Jean (Michael) of Awendaw, SC; great-grandchildren, Brandi (Erich) Arvidson of Booneville, John Robert (Hannah) Larrick of Columbia, Kristin Larrick of Charleston, SC, Kaleb (Sara) Mosley of Shelbina, Luke (Christina) Mosley of Macon, Brett Fuller of Albany, NY, and Ashley Fuller of Charleston, SC; great-great grandchildren, Emaline Arvidson, Journee Mosley, Julee Mosley, and Samuel Larrick. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Janet; sister, Lucille Johnson; brother, Noble Harrison; and her niece, Mary Margaret Thompson.

Following her graduation from Shelbyville High School in 1935, she was employed in the Shelby County ASCS office and later transferred to the state office in Columbia where she worked until resigning February 1941.

Gladys was a faithful member of the Union Grove Baptist Church south of Clarence where she served as Sunday School teacher for several years, pianist, and Clerk Treasurer for 54 years.

Besides being an avid reader, Gladys enjoyed making and quilting quilts, cutwork, and other needlework, as well as cooking.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11 am at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence, MO, with Dr. Richard Todd officiating and Pastor Kaleb Mosley assisting. A visitation will precede the service starting at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence, MO. Memorials can be made to Maplewood Cemetery or First Baptist Church of Shelbina.
