Mr. James Leonard "Jimmy" Harper, age 75, of Temple, GA., passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at his residence in Temple, GA. Mr. Harper was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 7, 1947, to parents, the late Mr. Leonard Samuel Harper and the late Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Mills. He was married to Mrs. Debria Ellen Smith Harper for 60 years. Jimmy worked for Square D Electrical as an electrician. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved being a cowboy, Civil War history and memorabilia, studying the bible, riding horses, fishing and going hunting.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Mrs. Debria Harper, two sons, James Russell "Rusty" Harper (Heather), and Travis Wayne Harper (Mandy); grandchildren, Renee' Harper, Cheyenne Harper and Gavin Harper great-grandchildren Ronnie Grace Harper and Anderson Keith Harper; siblings, Lewis Samuel Harper (Shirley), Wilma Jenkins (Alvin) and Lynn Thompson (Steve) and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Beulahland Baptist Church Cemetery in Rockmart, Georgia with James Morris, Sr., Todd Morris, Jamey Harper, David Harper, Daryl Harper and Gary Thompson serving as Pall Bearers and Cheyenne Harper and Colby Harper serving as Honorary Pall Bearers.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
