Cass was born in Detroit to Casimir and Eleanor Rapnicki.

Following graduation from Cody High School, he began working at Ford Motor Company in 1974, retiring after nearly 40 years. Cass was a skilled handyman who was generous with his time and knowledge, reliably providing help to those in need. He took pride in his clean cars, which always had cologne in the center console.

Behind his tough exterior, Cass was a very sensitive person who loved to laugh and prepare food for his loved ones.

Always a tinkerer, he assembled a massive collection of Legos as a way to share his love of building with his children.

He was a devoted father to Casey (Amy), Ian (Emily), Channing (Kae) and proud grandfather of Toranosuke and Koume. He also leaves behind his twin sister, Kathy (Mike) Finney, sister, Sandy (Ron) Kozdron, brother, Christopher Rapnicki, and mother of his children, Kim Smith with whom he remained a close friend.

He was preceded in death by sister, Micki Stoj. Cass also leaves behind many relatives and friends.
