Nancy Mae Coffenberger 106, Abilene, Kansas, died Thursday February 21, 2008 at the Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas. She was born December 18, 1901 at Stella, Nebraska the daughter of Scott and Annie (Curtis) Hinkle. Her mother died when she was two years old and she was raised by her uncle and aunt, Alfred and Louise Hinkle. She attended the Abilene Schools and graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1920. On October 21, 1922 she was united in marriage with Samuel Earl Coffenberger in Salina, Kansas. They made their home in Abilene. They moved to Washington State in the 1950's and returned to Abilene in the 1970's. She was a homemaker, a member of the Abilene Presbyterian Church, Coetrie, a Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #111, Abilene, Past President of the James R. Cutler Post of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the WW I Barracks Auxiliary. Mr. Coffenberger preceded her in death on August 4, 1983. She moved to the Presbyterian Manor, Salina, Kansas, to make her home in 1990. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Earl.

Surviving are a nephew, Clyde Hinkle, Topeka, Kansas, a niece Helen Mueldener, Lyons, Kansas, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, Abilene, Kansas, Monday February 25, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Robert Frasier officiating. Burial will be in the Abilene Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until time of service.

The family of Nancy Mae Coffenberger suggests that friends may contribute to the Shriner's Children's Hospital or the charity of their choice in her memory. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.
