Born in Jersey City, NJ, December 1, 1939, he was the son of the late William A and Matilda E (Hurst) Sitty. Beloved brother and brother-in-law of the late Catherine Coyle and husband John, Dorothy Palmer and husband Robert and Marjorie Kruk and husband Joseph. Joseph is also survived by his two older brothers William and the late Rose Sitty andJohn (Jack) Sitty and the late Patricia Sitty.
Joseph lived in Pocono Summit, PA with his loving wife Karen (Wilkie) Sitty and beloved dog Sandy. Married for 57 years and lived in their current residence for 22 years. Joseph and Karen were married on January 1, 1965. Prior to moving to the Poconos, Joseph and Karen lived in North Bergen, NJ where they had three children. Joseph F Sitty Jr. of North Bergen, NJ and his fiancée Kathleen (Kathy) Lally, Georgette C Stiffl er of Spring Hill, FL and her husband Ronald D Stiffl er Jr., Melissa L DeFina of Scranton PA and her husband Kyle M DeFina.
Joseph always loved to be surrounded by his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are eight grandchildren, Christine, and husband Paul Kirkstad; Danielle, and husband Wyatt Cannon; Kimberly Stiffl er; Jason P Sitty; Kerri A Sitty; Jessica L Rivera; Kailey DeFina, and Hunter DeFina, and four great-grandchildren, Shelby, Joshua, and Piper Kirkstad, and Jayla Cannon. Joseph is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Joseph was a Mail Equipment Handler for the US Postal Service. He was a member of the Catholic Faith. Joseph would love to make all the children in the family laugh. He was funny and witty with a great sense of humor. He had an amazing smile and beautiful eyes. Joseph loved the Poconos, loved going camping, and loved greeting people when they drove past his house or at the campground and being with Joe, Kathy, Melissa, Kyle, and the grandkids. In the warmer weather the Traveling Duo, (Joe and Karen) loved to visit different places but in the winter, these snowbirds would relocate to their winter estate in Spring Hill FL close to their daughter Georgette and son in law Ron and the Florida kids.
His funeral will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Sugarloaf, PA 18249. Entombment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, 111 State Rt. 435, Elmhurst, PA 18444. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10am until the time of the service.
