William Wade Eaves spent most of his life in Shelby County and East Texas. About a year before his death, he suffered an attack of typhoid fever, which developed into pneumonia. He was taken to a hospital in Dallas, and later to the home of his brother, Walter Eaves, near Neuville, where he died.

At the time of his illness he was serving as pastor of the Lela Lake Baptist Church. Survivors included his wife, and 4 children: Mrs. Lois Rider of Mineola, and Versa, Norris, and Ola Fay, who resided at his home. The death date on his death certificate is June 28, 1930.
