Myrtle Parker Cyfers, 72, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Boone Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born July 11, 1934, at Slagle, a daughter of the late William Joseph and Fairy Helen Fields Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jackie Sue Vance; three sisters, Phyllis Branard, Pauline Cox, and Jean Vineyard; and two brothers, Frank and Louis Whitt. She was a home maker. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Melvin "Jack" Cyfers Jr.; two daughters, Judy (Larry) Vance of Chapmanville and Macel (Jason) Adams of Greenville; one son, Melvin David (Melissa) Cyfers III of Robinette; one sister, Joan (Paul) Glover of Beckley; one brother, William (Ann) Parker of Beckley; ten grandchildren, Gideon (Linda) Vance, Joseph Lewis Vance, and Cassandra Faith Vance, all of Gaffney, SC, Krystal Vance of Huntington, Larry David Vance of Fountain Inn, SC, Phillip Daniel (Angie) Morgan of Chapmanville, Danielle Maria (Samuel Jake) Sharpe of Carolina Beach, NC, Patrick Duty of Robinette, Mark Steven Duty of Davin, and Katie Breanne Cyfers of Greenville; and eight great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Christianna, Emily, Lewis, and Jackson Vance, all of Gaffney, SC, Kealeigh and Kara Morgan, both of Chapmanville, and Rhiannon Sharpe of Carolina Beach, NC. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2007, at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home at Man with Rev. Randy Toler officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Pall bearers will be grandsons, Jason Adams, and David Whitt.
