Mr. Stokes passed away at the age of 86 on January 16, 2013 in Kaufman.
George Washington Stokes, Jr. PaPa was born February 22, 1926 in Blooming Grove, Texas. He had been a resident of Kaufman for 5 years, formerly living in Balch Springs. He worked as a warehouse supervisor for Major Supply in Dallas from 19692007, and also a funeral or at Corleys Funeral Home in Mexia, Texas in earlier years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Stokes in 2006 sons, Robert Stokes and George Stokes stepson, C.T. Coe parents, George Washington Stokes, Sr. and Exie Marie Stokes and brother, Joe Stokes.
Survivors include his daughter and soninlaw, Patricia Archie Simons of Kaufman stepson, Weldon Onstott of Hubbard three daughtersinlaw, Becky Onstott of Hubbard, Debbie Stokes of Van and Sue Stokes of Waco and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
