His father and mother came to Kansas in 1869, and first settled on the C. W. Ehler farm. He was one of a family of 10 children. On March 12, 1906, he became a member of the First Baptist Church, McLouth.
Mr. Vandruff and his brother, Charles Vandruff farmed for a number of years. After the brother's death he made his home with a brother-in-law, J. N. Lawless. After the death of Mr. Lawless, he resided at the Henry Ridgeway home and for the last few years, he resided at the Meek Nursing Home of Oskaloosa, Kansas.
Mr. Vandruff is preceded in death by seven sisters and two brothers. He leaves to mourn a niece and a nephew, and a host of friends.
