PRINCEVILLE - Raymond H. Klein, 66, of Princeville, Ill., died at 4:01 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on March 4, 1941, in Joliet, Ill., to Fred and Dorothy Klein. Ray was the youngest of 11 children. He is survived by brother, Fred, and sisters, Monica and MaryAnn.

He married Anita A. Ozella on Sept. 17, 1960, in Joliet, Ill. She preceded him in death on March 17, 1982. He later married Anne B. Comisky on July 9, 1983. She survives in Princeville, Ill.

Ray is also survived by his loving family, including his children, Milissa (Doug) Stauffer of St. Louis, Mo., Jennifer (Mark) Young of Peoria, Raymond (Molly) Klein of Bellingham, Wash., and Sarah (Christian) Weber of West Peoria. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Stephanie, Zachary, Allison, Danielle, Samantha, Sabrina, Jacob, Emily, Katherine, Theresa, Jonas, Kate, Elizabeth and Jackson.

Ray worked for Caterpillar starting in 1959 in Joliet, Ill. He and his family traveled extensively, living in Belgium and England and then Peoria, Ill. He retired from Caterpillar in 2003.

He was a longtime member of the Illinois Valley Yacht and Canoe Club in Peoria, where he served as commodore from 1999 to 2000. He and his wife Anne served as IVY Club entertainment chairpersons for four years and have many fond memories.

Ray spent many years enjoying fishing, especially in Canada with his brother, Fred, and friends. He was a private pilot in the mid-1960s and continued to share his love for flying with his family. Ray and family enjoyed boating on the Illinois River. He, above all, was a family man and enjoyed time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Peoria. Entombment will follow the Mass in Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
