VAN OSCAR MILTON
Van Oscar Milton, 74, Lakeland, died October 18 at his residence following an apparent heart attack. Mr. Milton was a native of Macclenny and the son of the late C. J. and Annie D. Milton of Baker County. He had lived in Falls Church, V.A. for ____ years before moving to Lakeland in 1970. While living in Falls Church he was employed as an analyst with the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. for 30 years. Mr. Milton was a member of the Church of Christ and a member of the Kemper Falls Church Lodge No. 0064 and Free and Accepted Masons.
Survivors include his wife, Mercedes, of Lakeland; three sisters, Core Lee Hathcox and Alice Huey both of Lakeland and Minnie Ruth Milton of Macclenny; two brothers, Harold and Loyd both of Macclenny.
Funeral services were held October 21 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Brinkley-Guerry Funeral Home, Macclenny, with Minister Larry Crosby of Jacksonville officiating. Rev. Jerry Dale Milton of Gainesville assisted. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Chuck Davis, Wayne Davis, Rex Holloway, Charles Milton, John Milton, David Hathcox, Richard Sinclair and Curt Tharpe. Brinkley-Guerry Fuenral Home, Macclenny, was in charge of arrangements.
