On Monday, December 26, 2022, Glenn Barclay from Gulf Breeze, FL died at the age of 55.

Glenn was born on September 23, 1967. He grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated from Huntington High School. From there he attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana where he received his BS degree. Continuing on Glenn received his Master's of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Forth Worth, Texas, and his RN degree from Tarrant College, Forth Worth, Texas.

Glenn worked for over 25 years in healthcare management. He was co-founder of The Blake Assisted Living. He had a dream to start his own company that could truly make a difference for senior adults. He was a selfless mentor to many people who worked with him. He believed there was a better way to care for seniors. His work with the residents, families and staff was a passion and ministry for Glenn.

Glenn was so full of fun. He insisted that his wife, Jackie, and son, Blake, call him "Daddy." If they called him by his name, he said "No!!!" He loved watching silly 1980's sitcoms or Parks and Recreation re-runs with Blake. He loved watching animal videos, documentaries and he loved everything about Christmas. He wanted at least a million lights covering their home. Glenn never missed a day at the gym. His favorite thing was to go with Blake to the gym. He loved working with special needs kids at the gym over the past year. It gave him so much joy. Glenn could play almost every instrument. A true musician with perfect pitch, he could hear any song on the radio, come home to his piano, and play the whole song from memory, filling his home with music and joy.

He loved to travel and would find any opportunity to snorkel and explore the ocean. He loved to research destinations and hotels and send pictures to his family of where they needed to travel next. Glenn was a man who always had compassion for others, being generous in time, money, and all things. He came home with flowers for Jackie and sour candy for Blake, knowing what his family needed or loved and always providing it. Glenn's life was filled with courage, kindness, strength, love, and duty. Blake frequently reminded Glenn that he is and always will be his hero.

The strongest thing in Glenn's life was his faith. He attended Southwestern Theological Seminary and always strived to serve God. He loved God and fervently lead his family and others in their faith. He would want all to know that the most important decision in life is knowing God; believing John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Glenn is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jackie, and his son, Blake, his parents, Glen and Bonnie Barclay, his brother, Darren, his sister , Tricia Barclay Norling and many more loving relatives.

Funeral services for Barclay will be Saturday, Dec. 31 at First Baptist Church of Pensacola
