MADISON COUNTIAN VICTIM OF STROKE
R. D. Axton, Flora Resident, Dies at Family Home at Age Of 78
R. D. Axton. 78, died Tuesday afternoon at the family residence seven miles east of Flora, after an illness of several days.
A resident of Madison county for the past 40 years, the aged man passed away at 3:30 yesterday afternoon from a stroke of paralysis.
Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, J. M. Axton of Jackson: and George W. Axton, of Flora; and eight daughters, Mrs. John Whitehead, Mrs. Emmit Richardson, Mrs. Taylor Molder, Mrs. H. P. Bradshaw and Mrs. Tom Bates, all of Madison county; Mrs. John Permenter, Mrs. Henry Hevelstorh, and Mrs. E. A. Sullivan, of Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at the family residence at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning with Rev. McComb, Flora Baptist minister, officiating. Interment will be in the Jackson cemetery near Flora.
