Mr. Carlie Shelton, age 75, of Newport, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 28, 2022 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

He loved his family and enjoyed farming and fishing.

He was preceded in death by parents Kirk and Geneva Shelton; brother Joe Shelton; sister Shirley Fisher and sisters-in-law Patsy Shelton and Flora Shelton.

Survivors include his wife Diane Jackson Shelton of the home; son Jason (Candace) Shelton of Knoxville; daughter Amy Marie Shelton of Newport; grandchildren Abereaunah "Dumplin" Shelton, Carlie Jason Shelton, Tyeson Chesney and Tylen Bush and great-granddaughter Karly Rai "Willow" Lawson all of Knoxville; brothers Doc (Rita) Shelton, Harold Shelton and Terry (Tammy) Shelton. Additional survivors include a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Jefferson Memorial Hospital for their care, compassion and professionalism.

The family will host a Celebration of Life Service at a later date.
