Faye Cooper Gamble, 86, passed away December 26, 2022. Shirley Faye Cooper was born February 17, 1936, in Knightdale, NC to the late Henry Clay Cooper and Mattie Lea Jeffreys Cooper.
She graduated from Knightdale High School in 1954 and Hardbarger Business College in 1956.
Following graduation Faye began her working career with Bell Bakeries. She later worked with Life of Georgia Insurance Company, Cotton Insurance Association, as well as a substitute schoolteacher. Prior to retirement, she owned and operated Gamble's Motel "on the circle" at Atlantic Beach, NC.
Faye was very active in her community serving in many capacities including a Girl Scout Troop Leader (Regional Award Winner), Methodist Youth Fellowship Counselor, President of the Missionary Society, and a PTA Secretary. In her spare time, Faye enjoyed singing, playing Scrabble, and spending quality time with her family, friends, church family, and her beloved dog, Angel. She also enjoyed collecting Kewpie dolls, thimbles and 1950's memorabilia.
Faye is survived by her children: Michael C. Glosson and wife Nicole, Tina G. Bachar and husband George, Grady C. Glosson and wife Deborah; ten grandchildren: Andrew, Daniel, Billy, Caleb, Gabrielle, Zacharias, Grace and Sarah Glosson, Samantha Galindo and Chelsea George; nine great-grandchildren: Takumi, Nobuki, Violet, Alistair, Clive, Arlo and Samuel Glosson, Isaiah Pridgett, and Chance Wavle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold J. Glosson; second husband, Roland Gamble; and her sisters: Gloria Cooper Gore and June Cooper Turnipseed.
A service to celebrate Faye's life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 2, 2023, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow at Knightdale United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 pm at the funeral home.
