He was born on July 30, 1940 in Royalton, the son of the late Alton R. and Helen M. (Kohr) Goodling.
Mart was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
He retired from Sutliff Chevrolet and previously worked in banking and home building.
Mart attended and was very active in the Highspire First Church of God.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and especially enjoyed hunting in Potter County and fishing on the Susquehanna as well as spending time in their cabin on Poplar island. His biggest prize in his hunting life was the 7 x 6 Bull Elk that he harvested in Benezette. He also enjoyed sporting clays at the Hummelstown Field and Stream.
Mart became a World War II buff due to the loss of his father in the war.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Donald Goodling.
Mart is survived by his wife of nearly fifty-six years: Donna G. (Prescott) Goodling; his son: Ronald L. (Loretta) Goodling; his grandsons: Nick Goodling and Matt Goodling; his sisters: Rochelle Still and Sandra (Barry) Snook; his brothers: Barry Goodling and Alton "Jun" (Shannon) Goodling; his sister-in-law: Judy (Late Donald) Goodling; his nieces and nephews; his cousins; and, his extended family: Karen Marencic, Kathy (Jim) Scheaffer, Kaye (Rob) Smith, and Krisi (Tim) Curtis.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
