Earl Craft Gill
January 24, 1928 - December 26, 2022
Earl Craft Gill, age 94, of London, Kentucky passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years, Beverly Williams Gill; two children, Rebecca Gill Morrison & husband Robert, Dr. Paula Kaye Gill, all of London, KY; one sister, Nancy Jean Etherton of Georgetown, KY; three grandchildren, Adam Nicholas Webb & wife Renea, William Miller Temple II, Winston Chandler Benge; four great grandchildren, Cameron Alex Webb, Nicholas Ryan Webb, Elijah Earl Webb, Lyric Gracelin Ford; several nieces and nephews, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Oscar Gill and Bessie Green Gill; and by five siblings, Louis Gill, Paulene Gregory, Lottie Smith, Beda Christian, Charleston Gill.

Earl was a gentleman of tremendous compassion and a devoted servant of God. At a young age, he joined the Merchant Marine and traveled the world, serving our country as a mariner during World War II, then he served again in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning from the war, he enrolled at the University of Cincinnati to study and became a pharmacist, which was his profession for more than sixty years until his retirement at the age of 92.

Earl was a man of tremendous faith who was involved in several church communities. He was respected and beloved as an elder emeritus of First Christian Church, where he had been a long-time leader, Sunday School teacher, and member of the choir. He was also involved in the London and Manchester Seventh-day Adventist Church and in the Faith Assembly Church of God in Middlesboro, KY. Throughout his life, he practiced his faith with absolute passion, and he did mission work through the Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship in Europe, Haiti, and Ecuador.

A family man, Earl was a wonderful father and very supportive of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, whom he loved beyond measure and in whom he held the utmost pride. Earl was a Boy Scout leader and active in many community clubs. He loved people, and his compassion and tender heart extended particularly to children and those less fortunate. Through his involvement with the Shriners and the local Shrine Club, he was a leader of the Shriners Hospital of Cincinnati on its Board of Governors, serving as the Donor Relations Director and Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee.

Countless individuals will remember Earl as a man who had an impact on their life: a difference-maker who encouraged them to pursue their highest potential and whom he entreated to live a life devoted to the enthusiastic service of God and of their fellow man.

Funeral services for Earl will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Church in London, Kentucky with Jonathan Carmack and Adam Webb officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 31, 2022 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour also at the church. Honorary pallbearers include the following: Adam Webb, William Temple, Winston Benge, Robert Morrison, Coleman Smith, Charles Cummins.
