Mark Steven Allen was born on June 17, 1954 and passed away peacefully on December 22, 2022 at Bethany House in Auburn.
Mark was an avid Auburn athletics fan, War Eagle! - a friend to many and never met a stranger. He was a butcher by trade for most of his life.
Mark was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Doris Allen of Lanett, and his in-laws, Charles "Shorty" and Myra "Polly" Freeman of Huguley.
Mark is survived by his wife of 40 years, Merry Freeman Allen; his daughter, Ashley Allen (Todd) Woodall and their two beloved children, Payson and Kyler of Smiths Station; his brother, Anthony (Robin) Allen of Jasper; his sister, Debbie Allen (David Sanders) of Opelika; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. EST at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley with interment following in Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett. His family received friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 P.M. EST until 2:45 P.M. EST.
In lieu of flowers, Mark's family requests that memorials be made to Bethany House, 1171 Gatewood Drive, Building 100, Auburn, AL 36830.
