Charles F. "Chuck" Corder, 87, of Spencer passed away on Wednesday December 21, 2022 at the Bloomington Care Center.

He was born on November 19, 1935 in Hettick, Illinois the son of Burley Orville and Frances Elizabeth (Patterson) Corder. Chuck was a 1953 graduate of Hettick High School in Hettick, Illinois. He was a US Marine Corp Veteran proudly serving his country working in the motor pool. He married Mary Lois Henry on July 24th, 1984 in Las Vegas, Nevada they were happily married for thirty-eight years.

Chuck worked as a machinist for various machine shops in Illinois and he was also a supervisor mechanic at several auto dealerships in Illinois. After moving to Bloomington, he worked as a machinist for Otis Elevator for seventeen years before retiring in 1998. He was an avid outdoorsman. Chuck enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms and ginseng, gardening, making salsa from his garden, working in the garage tinkering around on his trucks and cars, treasure hunting, bluegrass music and playing guitar. Chuck played in several bands in Illinois. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Chuck is survived by his wife Mary L Corder of Spencer; daughters, Bonnie (Rob) Smith; Bonita Miller; Connie (Jerry) Bull all of Bloomington; ten grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents, Burly and Frances Corder; a brother, Norman Conder; two sisters, Louanna May Crum and Sharon Lou Ackley.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Bloomington Care Center and Hospice for their care and support that was provided to Chuck and the family.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Memorial contributions may be made to the VA or the Owen County Humane Society.
