Alberta Mae Bending, 73, of North Platte passed away peacefully at Great Plains Health on December 20th, 2022. Alberta was born May 8, 1949 on the heels of one of the worst winters in Nebraska history. She was born to Robert O'dell Bending and Laura Bell (Clinger) Bending along with her twin Roberta Bending. Sadly, Roberta died shortly after birth.

Alberta spent her entire life living with her mother due to minor disabilities, spending the last few years of her life as a resident at Premiere Estates assisted living facility. She was a member of The First Baptist Church in North Platte. Alberta was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed puzzles, cats, and any television show about Jesus. Though Alberta could have qualified for assistance due to her disabilities, she chose not to and instead wanted to work. She was driven and dedicated to her job. Alberta was a housekeeper at Holiday Inn, which was later Quality Inn and is now Ramada for 40 years. She received an award for her dedication and the local newspaper wrote an article about her. Alberta enjoyed planting and taking care of some of the flowers at Premiere Estates.

She was preceded in death by infant sister, Roberta Kay; parents, Robert and Laura; brother, Eugene Bending; sister, Linda Baylie; numerous aunts and uncles.

Inurnment will be held 2:00 P.M., January 3, 2023 at North Platte Cemetery.
