Richard Cecil Brown, Sr. 82 of Halifax, NC passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022.

He was born in Northampton County on December 1, 1940 to the late, James Elmer and Margaret Lambert Brown and was preceded in death by his two brothers, Kenneth Brown and Alton Brown and his sister, Betty L. Brown.

Richard worked for the Town of Weldon for fifty years and he attended Victory Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Betty S. Brown; his daughter, Teresa Asbell and her husband, Tim of Roanoke Rapids; his son Richard Brown, Jr. of Halifax; his daughter, Kay Worley and her husband Tim of Clayton; and daughter Kim Stroud of Halifax; his nine grandchildren, Jami Landen, Matthew Brown, Erin Ezzell, Jessica Slangal, Patrick Brown, Ali Worley, Koty Davis, Sarah Worley and Halie Pike; his fifteen great-grandchildren; his brother, Donald Brown and his wife, Fredia of Chesapeak, VA; his cousin, Becky Phillips and her husband, Mike and his special "Fur Baby" Macy.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services with Chuck Podruchny officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at the Funeral Home.
