Born June 1, 1942, in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, he was a son of the late Clifford Albert Phillips and Ruby Lorene Branan Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was the owner operator of Vernon's Barber Shop in Stockbridge serving the citizens of Henry County for 50+ years. He loved watching the Georgia Bulldogs play football. Vernon was a huge fan of Elvis and especially fond of his Gospel albums.
Surviving are two daughters; and soon to be grandchild affectionately called, "Bean."
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 25, 2018, in the East Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
