Kathy Diane Deskins, 62, of Adamstown, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Frederick Health Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Scott Deskins for 31 years. They were married on September 21, 1991. Born on October 1, 1960, in Olney, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edward Elmore Lewis and Katherine Louise (Holston) Lewis.
Kathy was a HR representative at Highway and Safety Services in Gaithersburg for over 20 years. She loved her family and had a sweet spot for all of them in her heart. After her mother and father passed away, she became the "Matriarch" of the family, always sharing in what was going on in their lives. Kathy loved playing Bingo and her 'scratch offs'.
In addition to her husband, Scott, she is survived by her sisters: Patricia Spitler, Edwina Conner and husband Daniel; a brother: Edward Lewis, Jr. and wife Susan as well as a brother-in-law Halleck Jones, Jr. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Kim Slawter and husband Mike, Kelly Mathis and husband David as well as a brothers-in-law Jeff Deskins and Jamie Deskins and wife Marie, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Jones, a brother-in-law, Terrance Spitler and 2 nephews, Joseph and Jeremie Conner.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Providence United Methodist Church, 3716 Kemptown Church Road, Monrovia. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:00 am, Pastor Donald Carpenter will officiate. Interment will be at Kemptown Cemetery.
