He was born on Sept. 24, 1942 son of the late Benjamin "Elmer" and Myrtle Isabella (Spoar) Anderson and educated in Ephratah and Johnstown schools.
He entered the military being drafted with the United States Army in 1965. He served proudly during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1967.
He was united in marriage with the former Margaret Leip in 1969 at their home in Little Falls. Mrs. Anderson passed away on Sept. 10th, 2001.
Gerald was last employed with Quackenbush, Herkimer and was formerly employed with the former Daniel Green, Felt Shoe and Allegro Factories. He retired at the age of 62 after 30 years of dedicated service with several former local factories.
Mr. Anderson was a very active member of the Little Falls community holding memberships with the Little Falls American Legion Post #31 and the Little Falls VFW #4612, Little Falls Polish Club and Mannerchor. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and belonged to the Dolgeville, Ephratah and East Herkimer Fish and Game Clubs throughout his lifetime. He was the last living member of the Charlie Wooster Club, Little Falls. Gerald enjoyed and treasured the times he spent on the Sherwood Farm.
Survivors include his beloved family; his son, Jamie Anderson and wife Elizabeth of Little Falls; a brother, Richard Anderson and wife Rae of Florida; a sister, Lila Moshier Holland of Little Falls; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by step son, John Grose, and two sisters, Helen Elizabeth Miller and Alberta May Foley.
