Shelby Andrews, 83, died Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Dodge City, Kansas. She was born at Colorado Springs, Colorado the daughter of Howard and Martina Degenhardt Betz.
She married Gerald Gene Schwien on October 12, 1957 in Ness City, KS. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1961. She married Carrol Neal McCain on June 5, 1965 in Ness City, KS. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1994. She later married Donald "Don"
Gene Andrews on October 23, 1997 in Branson, MO. He preceded her in death on July 11, 2017.
Shelby loved spending tie with her family especially her grandchildren. She also loved to keep a very clean and tidy home. She always looked forward to a great day of shopping. She worked as a sales associate for Avon for a few years before going to work at Eckles Department Store and then later working for Dillons. She always said over the years that her many customers she worked with had become close friends and even felt like a second family to her. She was known by her friends and family as Nana.
She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City, Kansas.
Shelby is survived by two sons, Troy (Sarah) McCain of Dodge City, KS. and Rory (Theresa) Schwien of Denver, CO. her seven grandchildren:
Megan, Melanie, Tanner, McKenzie, Creighton, Cecilia and Sierra; four great grandchildren, Zayne, Avery, Rhylie and Kaysone.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three husbands,Gerald Gene Schwien, Carrol McCain and Don Andrews and one sister, Sheila McBee.
Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 1:30 PM with Rev. John Stang presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Vigil service will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 12:00 to 6:00 PM at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, KS.
Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel.
