Heather Dawn Alphord, 51 of Crossett, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. She was born in Crossett, Arkansas on December 17, 1970, to her parents, Carl Ray and Phyllis Conella McClain Collins. She was a 1989 graduate of Hamburg High School and a 2001 graduate of the UAM School of Nursing.

Dawn loved going to concerts and listening to rock music, collecting various things at flea markets, reading, and relaxing in a canoe on the Buffalo River.

Dawn worked many years as a nurse at the Ashley County Medical Center and the Somerset Nursing Home. Her love and compassion for her patients was obvious and they loved her in return.

She lit up the room with her big bubbly personality, laughing often and speaking her mind whenever necessary.

She is preceded in death by her father, Carl Ray Collins and mother, Phyllis Long.

She leaves behind her son, Seth Collins of Crossett; one sister, Chasity Collins also of Crossett; one brother Chris Collins of Hamburg; two nephews, Zachary Collins (Rebecca Harvey) and Eli Newton; and one niece, Anchor Collins; along with one great-nephew, Crew Collins; and a host of aunts, uncles and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17th, at the Zion Methodist Church in Milo, Arkansas, with Rev. Derrell Newton and Rev. Jimmy Bailey officiating. Pallbearers are Keifer McClain, Eric McClain, Aaron Lowery, Ian McClain, Ashby Meziere, Justin McClain, Daylin Deshazo, and Daylan Mosley. Honorary pallbearers will be Dawn's uncles.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, December 16th at Zion Methodist Church.
