The youngest of 8 children born to Charles and Susan Thompson, was born Feb 9 1876, in Gentry County and departed this life Nov 29 1943, aged 67 years, 9 months, and 20 days. He was united in marriage to Viola Rose Miller March 4 1896. To this union 10 daughters were born. His wife and daughter Elva preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his death nine daughters namely. Mrs Alta McClelland, Seattle Wash; Mrs Marie Stratton, McFall Mo; Mrs. Pearl Slaybaugh, Pattonsburg Mo; Mrs Eula Larsen, Seattle Wash; Mrs. Avnes Teel, Seattle Wash; Mrs Louise Pulsifer, King City Mo; Mrs.Crystal Teel, McFall Mo; Mrs Wretha Holman, Oklahoma City Okla; and Mrs Virginia Jones, Kansas City Mo. also 25 grandchildren with 3 grandsons in the service of their country, and 2 brothers Charles L. of Albany Mo and James N. of McFall, and one sister Mrs Ida Miles of Valley Center Kan. His entire life was spent in Gentry County exceptfor a few years in Nebraska. As a father he was sacrificing and home loving and as a friend he was always faithful and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The funeral services were held at the McFall Baptist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. Leland Heriford of Maysville Mo. Interment in the McFall cmetary.
