Dorothy Marie Snodgrass Adkins, 89, of St. Albans went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2008, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.Dorothy was born March 8, 1918, in Sattes and was a daughter of the late James and Pearl Roach Snodgrass.She was a retired cook from Pick Memorial Hospital, where she had worked for 15 years. She formerly attended Bethany Baptist Church and Lock Seven Freewill Baptist Church.

Dorothy loved gardening and flowers. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, William Ronald "Tig" Adkins; son, Eddie Arnold Adkins; brothers, Cecil F. and Ernest Snodgrass; and sisters, Hazel Bateman, Grace Snodgrass, Kathleen Lanham and Julia Sayre.She is survived by her sons, William Ronald Adkins Jr. of St. Albans and James Ray Adkins of Tennessee; daughter, Mary Lou Dillon of Chesapeake, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, February 18, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B St., St. Albans, with the Rev. Robert Lee Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Cemetery, Scott Depot.There will be a gathering of family and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
