Cathy Abstance Kaney

Windsor, SC—A celebration of life service for Mrs. Cathy Abstance Kaney, age 67, will be held 3:00 pm Monday December 12, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Windsor with Rev. William Vaughn and Rev. Tim Smart officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shane Hutson, Matt Anderson, Tracy Atkinson, Eddie Newman, Austin Atkinson, Danny Gantt, Anthony Atkinson, & Jamie Pitts.

Mrs. Kaney entered into rest on Wednesday December 7, 2022, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of Mr. John Dennis Kaney and the daughter to the late Mr. Aiken A. Abstance and the late Mrs. Julia Kitchings Abstance.

Mrs. Kaney was a native and lifelong resident of Aiken County. She was of the Baptist faith, and a member of First Baptist Church of Windsor. Mrs. Kaney loved her family and friends. She worked many different jobs to help provide for her family. Some of her most beloved work was in the schools and daycare facilities where she had the privilege to work with children. She cared for those children as if they were her own and called them her grandbabies. Mrs. Kaney loved being on the go, and always had to get a chocolate frosty whenever she was out. Her hobbies included adult coloring, cooking, and taking care of babies.

Additional survivors include: one son David Barney Inabinet, Windsor; one daughter, Shana Kaney (Chris) Anderson, Windsor; two sisters, Jean Abstance Holley, Clearwater, and June Abstance Ussery, Kings Bay, FL; and six grandchildren, Serenity Anderson, Amber Inabinet, Alysa Perritt, Bella Pelt, Gabby Pelt, and Shaley Pelt. Mrs. Kaney was preceded in death by: one brother, Aiken "Chip" Abstance; two sisters, Julia Mae Abstance Mundy and Myrtle Abstance Pickering; one niece, Angie Mundy; and two nephews, Scotty Ussery and Aiken "Trey" Abstance III.

The Kaney family would like to thank all the family and friends that have supported them during this time, Crescent Hospice, and University Home Healthcare. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Outreach Ministry of the First Baptist Church of Windsor 539 Middleton Dr Windsor, SC 29856.
