Gary William Sweetnam
February 22, 1939 ~ July 30, 2022

83, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on July 30th, 2022. Gary lived a life of fun. His favorite things to do included family vacations, water ski trips, camping trips and being with family and friends…as long as Diet Pepsi was involved.
Dad was a loving and supportive father and would always be found at the countless track meets, volleyball games and football games of his kids. Dad always loved company, especially for hanging out, listening to music, watching tv or enjoying a sunset. He lived life at his own pace. Dad passed away peacefully of old age and is now able to join the love of his life, Ann C. Sweetnam, in heaven. They spent 45 years together followed by 10 years apart after Ann's passing in 2012.
Through most of his life, Gary was a plumber for the Los Angeles school district. He could fix or build anything and spent much of his spare time on household projects, repairs and taught all his children to do the same.
Dad was always quick to smile, easy to joke with and was jolly in nature. He never had a cross word for anyone that did not deserve it.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents William and Margaret Sweetnam and his sister Janice. Gary is survived by his 5 children, their spouses, 24 grandchildren and just 3 months shy of becoming a great grandfather. Dad loved everyone and is looking forward to seeing you again, so grab a cold Diet Pepsi and join him on the eternal couch to reminisce about the good ol' days.
Services will be held at the LDS Church on 3911 N. 24th St. Mesa, AZ 85213 at 10:00am on August 6, 2022. Gary will be laid to rest at the Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa at 7900 E. Main Street. Flowers through Crismon's Flowers (480) 964-4595.
