Born Jan. 8, 1933, in Hamilton, he was the son of Robert and Pearl (Cochran) Parsley. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Parsley worked for Mosler Safe in Hamilton, retiring after 30 years. He was a member of Governor's Baptist Church in Fairfield, Ben Franklin Masonic Lodge #719, was a Shriner and a member of the Scottish Rite.
Survivors include five children, Carolyn (Wally) McIntosh of Trenton, Greg (Karen) Parsley and Roy (Bobbie) Parsley, both of Camden, Gerald (Leslie) Parsley of Lexington, Ky., and Teresa (Ray) Sackenheim of Brookville, Ind.; one brother, R.J. (Pert) Parsley of Hamilton; two sisters, Grace Coffey of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Lill Thompson of Hamilton; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Butella (Parrett) Parsley, whom he married on June 9, 1951, in Richmond, Ind.; a son, Larry Parsley; a brother, Elmer Parsley; a sister, Edith Newton; and a granddaughter, Shelly McIntosh.
A memorial service was held Monday evening, Dec. 12, at Nein-Thompson Funeral Home, Camden, with Pastor Billy Wilson officiating.
