OBITUARY:
At his home, No. 179 High street, this city, suddenly Saturday morning, March 4, 1893, Dr. Harrison Smith, aged 79 years. Deceased was a practicing dentist of this city for years and in his business and social relations made many friends. He was interested in the development of the Santiam mines and built the first road into that region. Two daughters, Misses Lulu and and Claire, survive him. James X. Smith, of Mehama, is a brother, and Mrs. J. W. Meredith, of this city, is a sister-in-law of the deceased. The funeral will be held at the family home Monday at 2 p.m., and the remains will be interred by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Rural cemetery.
