Mr. Brown was born at Rockport, WV, a son of the late Luther "Earl" and Lula Brown.
He was retired from DuPont and was a WW II Army veteran. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Parkersburg and Mt. Olivet Lodge 3, AF & AM.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mildred Houchen Brown; one son, David Alvie Brown and his wife, Amy of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; two grandsons, Michael H.T. Brown and his wife, Chris, with the US Navy stationed in San Diego, Calif. and Aaron D.T. Brown and his wife, Amy of Whitesburg, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren and his beloved ex-daughter-in-law and mother of his grandsons, Nancy Gwynn and her husband, Michael of Morristown, Tenn. A half-sister Lois Blair.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Hobart Brown in 1994.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday, February 27, 2006 at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, WV with Dr. Timothy Allen officiating. Services will be concluded with Masonic Graveside Rites and burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Monday.
