Charles Allen Baltzegar, 75, of 142 Whaley St., died Monday evening, November 5, 2007, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 8, in the Bethel United Methodist Church on Charleston Highway, with the Rev. Curtis Felkel officiating. Burial will be in the Bowman Memorial Cemetery in Bowman, directed by Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Orangeburg. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Rowell, Mark Rowell, Sam Salley, Chad Baltzegar, Robert (Robby) Craig III and Bryan Craig.

Mr. Baltzegar was born March 11, 1932, in Dayton Beach, Fla., a son of the late Leon Ike Baltzegar and Corrie Bell Sanford Baltzegar. He was a self employed electrician. He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and a member of the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy (Dot) Rast Baltzegar of Orangeburg; children, Charlene and Heyward Rowell of Cope, Connie and Robert Salley of Orangeburg, Richard and Rhonda Baltzegar of Bowman, Sheila and Jerome Smoak of Bowman, Terri and Patti Drawdy of Ohio, Michael and Barbara Drawdy of North Augusta, Rex and Vicki Rast of Cordova, Patty Sue and Walter Kemmerlin of Cordova; one brother, W.A. and Doris Baltzegar of Denmark; one sister, Lizzie Mae
Baltzegar of Edgewater, Fla.; sister-in-law, Mary Baltzegar of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence, 142 Whaley St., Orangeburg, and Thompson Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the H.F. Mabrey Center for Cancer Care, 1161 Cook Road, Orangeburg, SC 29118.
