her home. Janes was a member of Waverly United Methodist Church for 50
years. She was born in Wood County, a daughter of the late Winfield and
Sarah Kelley Vanata. She is survived by her husband, Charles A. "Buss"
Janes, Sr.; two sons, Charles A. Janes, Jr. and James R. Janes, both of St.
Marys; sister, Genevieve Whitlatch of Georgetown, S.C.; six grandchildren,
Brenda Cosner of Vienna, Beverly Surratt of Barboursville, W.Va., Sherri
Murphy of Parkersburg, Nathan Janes of St. Marys, Matthews Winans of
Sissonville, W.Va., and Angela Smith of St. Marys; and four great-
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Blanche Rawson. The
funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Waverly United Methodist Church, with the
Rev. Earl Perkins and the Rev. Michael Daniels officiating. Burial will be
