Edgar J. C. Jones

Funeral services for Edgar J. C. Jones, 81, of Hearne will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hillier Funeral Home.

The Rev. Bill Jones of Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Steep Hollow Cemetery. Visiting hours are from 2-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Jones died early Saturday morning in Leisure Lodge Nursing Home in Hearne.

He was born in Brazos County and was a Bryan resident until moving to Hearne in 1977. Mr. Jones was a retired pipe fitter and member of Houston Pipe Fitters Union Local 211 for 45 years. He belonged to Wheelock Baptist Church.

Mrs Jones was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Newberry.

Survivors incluide his wife, Aline Jones of Hearne; a daughter, Mary Lou Pyre of Tyler; two step daughters, Martha Moffatt of Glendale, Ariz. and Billie Gail Pack of San Antonio; six grand children; four step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
