ANTONINO - Fidelis A. Pfannenstiel, 97, died July 26, 1997, at Hays Medical Center. He was born July 30, 1899, at Munjor, the son of Alex and Anna Sauer Pfannenstiel. He was a retired farmer.

He belonged to Our Lady, Help of Christians, Catholic Church at Antonino, where he was a former church committee member.

On May 4, 1920, he married Scholastica Korbe at Munjor. She died Feb. 26, 1959. On Jan. 16, 1960, he married Mary Wolf Herl at Munjor. She died Dec. 25, 1989.

Survivors include: three sons, Nick F., Hays, and Richard and Cyril, both of Denver; a daughter, Betty Leiker, Antonino; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Richard, Marvin and Severin; five brothers, Nicholas, Connie, Carl, Val and Celestine "C.A."; and five sisters, Sophia Rupp, Clara Meier, Katie Rupp, Matilda Gerstner and Rose Gross.

Parish vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Hays Memorial Chapel. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with Fathers Michael Suchnicki, Paulinus Karlin and Earl Befort presiding. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today, 2 to 9 p.m. Monday and 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A memorial has been established with the church or for Masses in care of the funeral home.
