Toma Wise, 77, Succumbs

"Funeral for Toma C. Wise, 77, of 621 N. I, will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Velma Baptist Church. Mrs. Wise died about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in a Duncan hospital. She had been in ill health several months. Her husband, W. S. Wise, died in 1956. Mrs. Wise was born Oct. 10, 1883, near Mountain Grove, Okla. The Rev. Carr Suter acting minister of the Duncan First Baptist Church, will officiate at the service. Mrs. Wise was a longtime member of the Velma church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Gaylord Clark, 101 Fir; Mrs. J. L. Woolsey, 1212 Chestnut; and Mrs. G. G. Lloyd, 506 N. B; and three sons, C. F. Ables, 912 N. 8th; James A. Ables, Oklahoma City; and Paul W. Wise, Euless, Tex. Also, seven brothers, Bob Ward, 206 Cedar,; Jud Ward, 903 Chestnut; Chandler Ward, 315 Ash; Clyde Ward, Alma; Hays B. Ward, Fox; John W. Ward, Corpus Christi; and Snow Ward who lives in Ohio; and 10 grandchildren. Burial will be in Velma Cemetery under the direction of Grantham Funeral Home. Bearers will be Marion and Doc Ely, Roy Barity, Virgil Kirkpatrick, Buck Holder, and Chester A. Stephens."
