Zella Barker Tidemanson Boggess, age 86, of Osage, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Mitchell. Visitation is from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and will continue one hour before services at the church.

Zella was born the daughter of Lee and Gae (Murphy) Barker, on May 10, 1921, in Burr Oak Township, near Osage. She graduated from Osage High School with a Normal Training Teaching Certificate in 1939. She taught in rural schools for two years. Zella was married to Francis "Jack" Tidemanson on January 25, 1942, at her home in Burr Oak Township. They farmed most of their married life, until they moved to Osage in 1966. Zella started working at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, where she was employed as a nurse's assistant for 20 years. After Jack passed away in 1984, Zella married Wendell Boggess in 1986, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Wendell passed away in 1995. Zella enjoyed making scrapbooks, crafts, camping, and enjoyed her family and friends. She was a life member of Our Savior's Lutheran Ladies Aid, and was an active member in church circle groups.

Zella was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Francis "Jack" Tidemanson and Wendell Boggess; a special friend, Ed Griga; a son, Carl Tidemanson; two brothers, Dick Barker and Kent Barker; a niece, Cheryl Duda; and a son-in-law, Rodger Wambeam.
Survivors include a son, Gary Tidemanson of St. Ansgar; two daughters, Judith Wambeam of Austin, Minnesota, Karen (Fred) Rodemaker of New Hampton; a daughter-in-law, Mary Tidemanson of Greene; three step-children, Bryan (Nancy) Boggess of Des Moines, Bruce (Valarie) Boggess of Colorado, Annette (Jim) Olesen of Rudd; many grandchildren and great and great-great grandchildren; and a host of friends.
