PLEAS H. GAY
Pleas H. Gay was born August 28, 1904 at Hobo, Texas, (near Mesquite), the son of Irvin E. Gay and Ollie Mae Minton and died Friday, February 5, 1993 in Chickasha.
Mr. Gay traveled to Oklahoma in a covered wagon with his family in 1917. They settled in Tabler and later moved to Chickasha.
He worked as an equipment operator for Grady County building roads for 26 years. He later worked for the City of Chickasha and the State of Oklahoma. He had a great love for and worked many hours with the early Chickasha rodeo.
He married Mary M. Ogle on March 9, 1924 at Chickasha. He was a member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ in Chickasha.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Mary M. Gay of the home; one daughter, Etta Mae and her husband, Jack W. Jorgensen, formerly of Flagstaff, AZ; two sisters, Ertha Gibbs of Chickasha and Ethel Nelson of Mesa, AZ; one grandson, Eric and his wife, Dorothy Jorgensen of Mesa, AZ; one granddaughter, Dianna and her husband, Edward Lucke, Jr. of Battlecreek, MI; one great granddaughter, Erica Jorgensen of Mesa, AZ; three great grandsons, Leif Jorgensen of Mesa, AZ and Eddie and Brian Lucke of Battlecreek, MI; one brother-in-law, Alfred and Lucille Ogle of Altaville, CA, and two sisters-in-law, Ila Faye Gay of Alex and Georgia Ogle of Blanchard.
Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
