Mrs. Billie Charlene (Adamson) Rogers, 79, wife of Mr. Marvin L. Rogers and longtime Washington County area resident, passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Monday in the Jane Phillips Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the Dewey United Methodist Church. Ms. Tari Carbaugh, Lay Speaker, will be the officiant. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Dewey City Cemetery by the Arnold Moore - Dewey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rogers will lie in state in the Arnold Moore - Dewey Funeral Home where family and friends may call for their visitation until she is removed to the church for final rites on Thursday afternoon.

A memorial in Billie's name has been established to the Dewey United Methodist Church, and those who wish may forward their gifts to the church at P. O. Box 610, Dewey, Okla. 74029.

An Oklahoma native, Billie Charlene Adamson was born January 5, 1929 in rural Wann, in Nowata County. She was the daughter of Marion Ernest and Alberta Florence (Hurst) Adamson. She received her education in the Wann Public Schools, except for her Sophomore year, which she attended the Richmond Union High School in Richmond, California. She was graduated with the Senior Class of 1947 from the Wann High School. She attended the Success Secretarial School evenings while working for the C. E. Burlingame Corporation where she was employed from 1948 to 1955.

She and Lt. Marvin L. Rogers, who was in the U. S. Air Force, were united in marriage on November 19, 1955 in the Wann Methodist Church, and they made their first home in Sacramento, California where Marvin was stationed at the Mather Air Force Base and she was employed at the California Dept. of Motor Vehicles. The Rogers' were then transferred to Altus Air Force Base at Altus, Okla. where they lived for 18 months before their transfer to Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas when the entire 337th Bomb Squadron and 96th Bomb Wing was transferred. Marvin was a navigator on the B47. They remained in Abilene until Marvin received his honorable discharge in November 1958. Upon their return to Oklahoma, they lived in the Wann Community for 20 years before moving to rural Dewey in January of 1978 where they have remained.

While living in Wann, Billie was Inspector on the Election Board as well as Precinct Registrar for several years, and served as Wann's City Clerk and Treasurer for six years. She became employed by Ruth and Arnold Moore on August 1, 1978 in the Dewey Funeral Home where she remained until her retirement in 1998. Marvin is a retiree of the Phillips Petroleum Co.

Billie was a member of the Dewey United Methodist Church and of the Women's Society of the church; and was Past Worthy Matron of the Copan, Okla. Order of Eastern Star Chapter #475.

Survivors are her husband, Marvin L. Rogers of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Barry Rogers and Susan, Terry Rogers and Beth, Darrin Rogers and Lisa; a brother, Deryl E. Adamson; and four grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, Kelsey and Kinsey Rogers. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; a daughter, Robin Rene'; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Hadley, Mrs. Fern Morgan and Mrs. Mildred DeLane; and a brother Virgil Adamson.
