JAMES PAUL HAGAN, NEW HAVEN AREA, DIES AT VA HOSPITAL
A Rt. 1, New Haven resident, James Paul Hagan, 61, died at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 24, [1977] at Louisville Veterans Hospital. He had been in ill health for some time. He was employed as a maintenance worker at the Bardstown Holiday Inn, and was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Kathleen Boone; two daughters, Misses Philomena & Joann Hagan, both at home; five sons, James Paul Hagan Jr., Rt. 1, New Haven; Joseph Louis Hagan, New Haven; Murrell Hagan, Star Route, New Hope; Robert Hagan, Elizabethtown, and Sgt. Anthony Hagan, with the US Army in Frankfurt, Germany; two sisters, Mrs. Oscar (Evelyn) Clayton, Rt. 2, Loretto, and Mrs. Margaret Bryan, of Rt. 1, New Haven; brothers, Jesse, Rt. 1, New Haven; Mike & Hugh Hagan, of Louisville, and J.V. Hagan, of New Hope, and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, at St. Catherine Church, New Haven, with the Rev. Paul Russell, pastor, officiating. Burial was in St. Vincent dePaul Church Cemetery, New Hope. The body was at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven, where a wake service was held at 8 p.m. Tuesday. The St. Catherine Church Altar Society conducted a rosary service at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
