Former Judson Township resident Donald Edwards, 78, Mankato died Friday, April 6, 1992, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Mankato, the Reverend Steven Minnema officiating. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery, Minneopa.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Woodland Hills Funeral Home, Mankato, and one hour before services at the church.

Mr. Edwards was born April 6, 1913, to Lemual and Irene (née Peterson) Edwards in Judson Township. He attended Judson Township country. He married Catherine Pongratz January 8, 1936, in Mankato and joined the First Presbyterian Church in 1945. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1414, Legion of the Moose and the Masonic Bethel Lodge of Lake Crystal.

He farmed for 10 years until joining the staffs Franklin Junior High and Elementary Schools as custodian-engineer in 1958 (just prior to the construction and opening of the elementary addition in 1960). He retired from that position in 1978.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife; a son, Wallace and his wife, Marva, of Clearfield, Utah; a daughter, Juanita Krueger, and her husband, Larry, of Bloomington; one brother: Daniel of Lake Crystal; three sisters: Vial "Vie" Johnson of Bloomington, Etta Wilcox of Billings, Montana, and Alvina Gifford of Minneapolis; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Constance in 1944; one brother, Benlyn Edwards in 1988; and one sister, Ila Radatz in 1958.
