Clinton Eugene Acker, age 88, of New Braunfels passed away Monday, July 10, 2017. He was born January 3, 1929 in New Braunfels to Edmund Acker and Clara Vogel. He married his beloved wife, Doris Bormann on November 18, 1947 at St. James Catholic Church in Seguin. Before his death, he lived a full life that included retiring from the Producers CO-OP then working for Pillsbury. He also ran the boat house in Landa Park for many years. Clinton had a love for many sports, but his passion was baseball. He enjoyed each and every season he had the opportunity to coach Little League, Babe Ruth League and American Legion Baseball. Clinton was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4183 in New Braunfels since 1973. His life was centered around church, family and friends.

Clinton was preceded in death by his parents Edmund Acker and
Clara Vogel Acker; his sister Lucille Goerke and brother in law Werner;
his brother Raymond Acker;and his son Darryl Gene Acker.

Clinton is survived by his wife, Doris Bormann Acker; daughter Georgia Acker Doerr and husband Michael; son Glenn Acker and wife Charlotte; and son Chris Acker and wife Stephanie; and sister in law Ella Acker. His grandchildren include Brett Doerr and wife Christy, Shelley Acker and husband Michael Hoag, Lauren Doerr Bludeau and husband Joe, Ryan Acker and wife Megan, Kristie Acker Bernal and husband Joe, Celeste Acker Lund and husband Justin, Bridger Acker, and Madison Acker. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren
and numerous other family members all of whom thought the world of him.

Visitation and rosary will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home located at 189 S. Seguin Avenue, New Braunfels, TX 78130 from 3pm – 6 pm with rosary beginning at 5pm. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church located at 386 N. Castell Avenue, New Braunfels, TX. A reception to follow in St. Mary's Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that donations be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School
